The Salon Professional Academy offers programs leading to amazing careers in Hairstyling, Esthetics, and Nail Technology. We also offer several advanced training programs for those who are already licensed.
There are so many factors to consider when selecting the school that will change your life by leading your way to a fun, fulfilling and lucrative career. It’s one of the most important decisions you will make as you graduate from high school, or change careers later in life.
At TSPA, we think learning should be fun and rewarding. Sure, you will have to spend time in the classroom before you get to work on real people, but that can be fun too. Our educators know what it’s like to be a student, so they also know how to make learning fun. From your first day in the classroom, through your first practice on a mannequin, to your debut working on guests in the salon or spa, our educators will personally guide you.
We’ll teach you to be confident, competent and creative.
Technical skills are very important to us, but they are only the beginning of your education here at TSPA. You will gain important business skills, marketing skills, and customer service skills that will give you a major advantage when you start your dream career.
TSPA Culture is Inclusive and Supportive with a Dedication to the Success and Well-being of All of our Students.

Where do you go from here?
We have very close relationships with the region’s premier salons and spas, and we meet with them annually to review our programs and find out first hand how our students are performing after they graduate. We also gather the region’s top salons and spas for career fairs in the spring and fall so they can meet our highly sought after students, and our students can meet with them to decide where they want to begin their amazing careers. Many of the salons and spas are represented by TSPA alumni at these events, which gives us a chance to catch up with them!

Let Your Hair be Your Costume!
Halloween is just around the corner. No costume planned? It’s ok, because we have 5 simple do’s that are a costume by themselves. Check out these spooky looks you can create quickly using just your hair. The last thing you want to be is a basic witch…
This is not only the cutest hairstyle you’ve ever seen but it’s super easy to create too. Just start by taking two triangular sections at the back of your parting where you want your ears to sit. You need to backcomb each section to create some volume and then start folding them towards the back of your head to create the ear shape. Then secure the ends of your hair with a bobby pin and pull out sections as much as you need to to get the right shape. If you’re struggling you can twist the ends to make it easier too. Finish with lots of hairspray and some bobby pins at the base to hold everything in place.
Who wouldn’t want to look like the most beautiful mythical creature of all? To create this style pull a section of hair at the front of your head into a pony and start backcombing. Then place another
bobble at the point where you want your unicorn horn to end and begin wrapping your hair around the shape. If your hair is quite thin or short you can use your Milk +Blush two-cli
p wefts to add as much length and thickness as you need. This look requires lots of hairspray too and keep using bobby pins as you go along as these will secure the shape. If you’re struggling try using a velcro roller to wrap your hair around instead. This will make it easier to create the base shape and you’ll have something for your hair to stick to. Finish with lots of hairspray and some colour or glitter if you’re feeling brave.
A halloween classic! Just start by parting your hair in the centre and creating two ponytails either side of your part where you want the horns to be. Just like in the last look if you need some extra length or volume add some wefts and start twisting the hair to create the look. For bigger horns you can use the velcro roller trick too but we love these cute little ones and they’re just as effective. Try teasing the horns towards your parting too for an extra devilish finish.
If you literally have 5 minutes to get ready then this is going to be your go to. Simply part your hair unevenly and create two sections either side. Pull these sections into a bobble and loop them to create the ear shape. We recommend using clear elastic bobbles as they’ll be undetectable and small enough to create the cute floppy finish. If you have time you can curl the rest of your hair but naturally messy curls are just as authentic! Done.
This looks super complicated but you can adapt it really easily and it’s way easier than you’d think. For the front of your hair you can braid it as in this picture or use bobbles to create sections of volume instead. The front of your hair doesn’t have to be super complicated as the tail is the main feature so be as creative or otherwise as you feel like. To make the scorpion tail start a braid at the nape of your neck and incorporate a pipe cleaner in a colour similar to your hair in the middle of it. If you need to add length clip your hair extensions in upside down before starting the braid and make sure to keep the hair super smooth so you conceal all the wefts. If you’re not great at dutch braids you can start with a ponytail instead and work from there. Just make sure to start it at the point where you want your tail to lift. When curling the braid make sure to create a big loop and leave some of your hair out at the end for an authentic and super scary tail.
Still not sure what to do with your do? Stop by TSPA and we’ll come up with the perfect Halloween look for your hair and makeup!
